All of our history workshops for KS1 & 2 are delivered in character

KS3+ workshops are normally in costume but not in character

Master builder of Egypt, working on the great temples of Ramesses II in Memphis

Pamphilos of Athens

Jeweller of the Agora District and hoplite of Greece's largest city, Athens. Father of 2 and a reluctant soldier. 

Areodotos of Sparta

Spartan warrior, messenger of the Dual Kings. Proud of his city, fiercely loyal to his people.

Zopyros of Elis

Former Olympic javelin champion, now a trainer of future competitors on the hunt for new talent

Valerius Drusus Aprilis

Decorated combat veteran, Centurion of Legion IIA based in Britainnia. Still believes in the Glory of Rome and the Imperial Mission.

Aries

Gladiator trainer and former Champion of Rome, freed by Emperor Hadrian. As a former slave, the ideal person to teach about the very bottom of Roman society.

Amminus of the Catuvellauni

Celtic trader with the Romans, but very reluctantly so! Maybe he's up to something...

Swithin, son of Aelfric

Woodworker, bowman, father & fyrdman of Ware in service of Mercia. Dedicated but world-weary, much happier with a cup of ale than a spear!

Embla Estridottir

Skald (poet) and storyteller from Saewinesborg. Reluctant raider but keen teacher of her people's sagas and times

Sigurd Sigurdsson

Expert scout and warrior of Saewinesborg, son of the master builder, going a-viking in England. Teacher of the young and enthusiastic student of Saxon ways and words.

Torvald Ragnarsson

Raiding chief, steersman, father & viking of Saewinesborg, out to write his own saga. Has a real passion for his comrades and his children as well as enjoying laughing at Saxons.

Sir Peter of Ware

Recently returned Crusader from Jerusalem where he travelled and fought with Richard the Lionheart, now travelling home

Peter Sayer

Sawyer and expert bowman of Hertfordshire, veteran of the Battle of Crechy. Another reluctant warrior but proud of his abilities.

Sir Peter FitzJoseph

Captain of Archers to His Majesty King Henry VIII and recently knighted for his service. A new inductee to the higher reaches of society.

Peter and Julie

A rich merchant with ships in the Port of London and a baker's wife from Thames Street, witnesses to the Great Fire.

ARP Warden and Land Girl (Mr Sawyer and Miss Merry)

Air Raid Warden checking schools are prepared for evacuees and a seamstress who is volunteering on a farm.
